Quick Take: Moburst's Generic Lander
Landing Page
Jun 14, 2024
I did Moburst’s home page then found this landing page. Pretty generic lander. When I see things like this, I assume they aren’t using landers to generate new biz.
Let’s take a quick look:
- Page is a little distracting – There’s a lot going on here above the fold. Instead of the animated clients bar, a solid testimonial from a recognized name would be better.
- What’s a “mobile media source”? – Search this term and you’ll find practically nothing in the SERPs. In other words, the first bullet point uses a term that no one else is using and isn’t proprietary. This is not the language of prospects.
- So much happening in the aboev-the-fold image… – I don’t care for the awkward body trend in marketing materials, and this image is conveying so much information that it conveys…nothing. Keep it simple.
- What’s a “media review”? – Again, there is basically nothing in the SERPs for this term. How can you generate leads with an offer no one understands?
- Testimonial is too low – Put a testimonial or a result up high – maybe above the headline even! Don’t bury social proof.
- No nav bar is good – Landing pages should be designed so that the users are going to take one action. For lead gen, that means laser focus on a form.
- Talk about themselves too much – I don’t care about your awards, I just want to know about me and how you’re going to fix my problems.
- Too slow – The numerous JS scripts slow this page down quite a bit: I like to go into browser dev tools and throttle to “Fast 3G” or so to see what it feels like. Bad internet is very common! This page takes a long time to load all its assets. SEO on landers isn’t too important, unless your prospects for the lander are coming from organic.
