Quick Take: Allstate Quote

Since I took a look at Geico’s quote page, I decided to try Allstate next. This is much better than Geico’s page - it looks like it’s actually finished!
“allstate quote” gets more than 10,000 searches per month. Let’s take a look:
- Hero is decent – I want an insurance quote and they say “get an auto insurance quote.” They have matched my intent! I don’t love the lowercase in the word “get” and I think the blue “auto insurance quote” (and other important text" has too little contrast with the blue background. Seems like and oversight. There is a weird rectangle design in the CTA box that doesn’t do anything.
- Visible clutter – This page has a lot going on that probably makes it hard for a visitor to focus. Lots of menu items and colors to distract and confuse me!
- CTAs all match – The colors and text match for every CTA: “get a quote”. I like that the CTA buttons are a color that particularly stands out and the text matches the intent of a visitor.
- Explainer text is wide – On desktop, the explainer text is pretty wide which makes it harder to read.. This is narrower on mobile.
- Copywriting is…okay – Let’s just take a look at one: “The road to affordable car insurance” does not match it’s corresponding explainer text: “Find coverage that fits your lifestyle. Choose from policies that cover most 2-door and 4-door vehicles, rentals, and classic cars. Get a car insurance quote and stay protected on the road ahead.” If you talk about “affordable car insurance” I expect you to tell me more about why your product is affordable.
- Stories and tips for everyday life – This does not get me into the quote funnel, so it should be eliminated. This is the content that takes people off your lead generating page if you catch their eye with an article.
Overall, this is better than Geico’s page, but could be streamlined to get people requesting quotes.
